Airlines and routes,

The East Coast is home to some of the country's most vibrant and buzzing cities. They are ideal to visit for a long weekend or a few days in transit when traveling. Whatever the reason for your visit, here is how to make the most of these exciting cities in a short amount of time.

Nestle in New York

Home to nearly 9 million people, New York City is easy to nestle into, and you can spend several days exploring this much-loved city before feeling satisfied that you’ve seen enough. But, no matter how long you spend in New York, you are sure to make the most remarkable memories.

There is so much to see and do, from cultural museums, such as the Metropolitan Museum of Art and MoMA, to green spaces of nature, such as the famous Central Park and the High Line. A trip to New York will also be incomplete without paying a visit to its major landmarks like the Empire State Building and the Statue of Liberty.

New York is great to explore any time of day, catching the most breathtaking views from the top of Rockefeller Centre during the day to soaking in the bright lights of Times Square at dusk when the city takes on a completely different look and feel.

Bop to the beat of Boston

Boston is a real treat for history buffs who want to explore America’s past through its revolutionary spirit with iconic museums and heritage tours. One of the best ways to explore Boston is by following the Freedom Trail and discovering the vibrant neighbourhoods along the way, filled with historic sites and parks.

Boston is also renowned for its traditional food, and no trip would be complete without trying its legendary chowder or heading to the Italian-centric North End for a cannoli or pizza. This can be chowed down at a baseball game at the iconic Fenway Park, which is a rite of passage for most Bostonians.

You won’t be short of things to do in Boston; from its unique culinary delicacies to its notable historical attractions and cultural institutions, there is something for everyone when it comes to discovering bustling Boston.

Wander around Washington

An East Coast trip is incomplete without a visit to the United States’ capital, a bustling city filled with major monuments, memorials and museums. Washington can be explored on foot, or you can ride a bike to each major spot in no time.

A great way to explore the main spots is by strolling or riding through the National Mall and making stops at the Washington Monument, Lincoln Memorial and Smithsonian museums along the way. You can spend however long you like at each one to really soak up the history and culture spilling out of each major sight.

One of the best times of year to visit Washington DC is in the Spring when the cherry blossoms are in full bloom, and the city is filled with vibrant colours. This will make your trip that little bit nicer and prettier and really allow you to enjoy this outdoorsy state that little bit more.
