Airspace closures in the Middle East

Due to the ongoing situation in the Middle East and resulting airspace closures in the region, a small number of flights at Heathrow have been cancelled or delayed.

Passengers are advised to check with their airlines for the latest information on their flight.

Heathrow has some truly incredible spots for enthusiasts to watch and record all sorts of aircraft on the runways.

  • Terminal 2

    From the Wondertree restaurant in the departure lounge, there are some incredible views out over the runway.

  • Terminal 3

    Enjoy panoramic runway views from the No.1 Traveller Lounge (a charge applies) and more intimate views from some of the departure gates.

  • Terminal 4

    Discover our View Heathrow observation deck (near Gates 15 and 16) with its 270-degree panoramic views of the southern runway, binoculars and flight-tracking touchscreens. Please note, this area is located after security, so only travelling passengers can access it.

  • Terminal 5

    From the departure lounge there are airfield views almost everywhere, but Gordon Ramsay Plane Food and Wagamama offer particularly memorable ones.

  • Heathrow Academy

    There's a covered viewing stand that's free for non-passengers at the Heathrow Academy building in Newall Road, looking on to the northern runway (TW6 2RQ). Please note, there is a charge for parking.
