Changes to Terminal 4 parking from 23 June

From 23 June 2026, the Terminal 4 multi-storey car park (for Terminal and Meet & Greet Parking) has closed as part of a major redevelopment programme to modernise the terminal's forecourts and car park, improving passenger experience.

All passenger parking for Terminal 4 will move to Zone A of the Terminal 4 Park & Ride car park.

Spectator areas across Heathrow

Heathrow has a number of great spots where you can see aircraft take off, land and taxi across the airport. Here are the best spots in each Terminal.

  • Terminal 2

    Enjoy runway views from the Wondertree restaurant in the departure lounge. It is a great place to relax while watching aircrafts take off and land.

  • Terminal 3

    Take in wide runway views from the No.1 Traveller Lounge (entry charges apply). You can also find good viewing opportunities from selected departure gates.

  • Terminal 4

    Visit the View Heathrow observation deck near Gates 15 and 16. The deck offers 270-degree views of the southern runway, along with binoculars and flight-tracking screens. Please note that this area is located after security and is only available to departing passengers.

  • Terminal 5

    You will find views of the airfield throughout the departure lounge. For some of the best spots, visit Gordon Ramsay Plane Food or Wagamama.

  • Heathrow Academy

    Non-passengers can use the free covered viewing stand at the Heathrow Academy on Newall Road (TW6 2RQ). The stand overlooks the northern runway. Parking charges apply.
