Changes to entering the UK using EU ID cards

From 1st October 2021, most EU, EEA and Swiss nationals will need to use a valid passport to travel to the UK. ID cards will no longer be accepted as a valid travel document to enter the UK, though some exemptions will apply.

    Transfer to the City:

    The Manchester Transit Authority provides a bus service to and from the airport to Manchester city centre. A large number of private shuttle companies also operate to and from Manchester, Boston and the surrounding areas. Reservations are required. There is a taxi service available in front of the terminal.

    Car rental:

    Car rental companies include Alamo, Avis, Budget, Dollar, Enterprise, Hertz, National, and Thrifty.


    Facilities at the airport include ATMs, three restaurants, several other food outlets located throughout the terminal, newsstands, gift shops, and wireless internet access.


    Lot A offers hourly parking at $2 per half an hour with a daily maximum of $24. Undercover parking is available at the same rate, with a daily maximum of $17 and a weekly rate of $85. Cheaper long-term parking is available in Lot C for $10 per day.
