Travelling to Heathrow over Christmas & New Year

On Christmas Day (Thursday 25 December) and Boxing Day (Friday 26 December), there will be no Heathrow Express or Elizabeth line services operating between Central London and Heathrow.

Heathrow Express trains will be running between all terminals, departing every 20 minutes.

Additionally, there will be no Piccadilly line services from London to Heathrow on Christmas Day, and a limited service will be running on Boxing Day.

Special timetables and Sunday services will be in operation across most public transport over the Christmas and New Year period. We recommend planning your journey and allowing for extra time where necessary.

How Heathrow set up Christmas trees

Heathrow
Behind the scenes,

Have you ever wondered how one of the world’s busiest and most connected airports manage to put up the most spectacular and sparkly Christmas trees for travelling passengers to enjoy? If the answer is yes, then you’ve come to right place.

The dedicated team get to work late in the cold night after the hustle and bustle of travellers has died down and the magic of Christmas can come to life. The tall, purple trees stand proudly as they welcome holidaymakers into the terminal doors, allowing them to get that first taste of festive fun as they start their next adventure.
