Travelling to Heathrow over Christmas & New Year

On Christmas Day (Thursday 25 December) and Boxing Day (Friday 26 December), there will be no Heathrow Express or Elizabeth line services operating between Central London and Heathrow.

Heathrow Express trains will be running between all terminals, departing every 20 minutes.

Additionally, there will be no Piccadilly line services from London to Heathrow on Christmas Day, and a limited service will be running on Boxing Day.

Special timetables and Sunday services will be in operation across most public transport over the Christmas and New Year period. We recommend planning your journey and allowing for extra time where necessary.

Back where their story began

Heathrow
Entertainment, Occasion,
They’ve been away, they’ve been missed, and now two familiar faces are setting off from Heathrow once again. Doris and Edward, the Bears who stole everyone’s hearts, are back once again.

A love story that started in the skies

It all began in 1967 when Edward forgot his hat on a BOAC flight. Doris, then a flight attendant, found it and returned it to him. In return, he bought her some shortbread as a thank you. One small gesture, and their story took flight.

From that day on, Heathrow has been part of their journey - the backdrop to countless arrivals, departures and long-awaited hugs. For Doris and Edward, it’s always been more than an airport. It’s where people reconnect and stories continue.

Back from hibearnation

After a few years roaming the world, the Heathrow Bears have returned, rested and ready for new adventures. You might spot them at check-in paw in paw, taking it all in like true paw-ssengers.

Because for them, travel isn't just about the destination – it’s about the moments shared along the way.

A bear-y familiar sight

Edward’s still in his trusty tweed flat cap. Doris is as stylish as ever in her yellow coat and red hat. Together, they’re every bit as charming as you remember.

If you’re travelling through Heathrow, pause for a moment - you may just notice a little magic from two familiar travellers.

Ready for their next chapter

From a forgotten hat to a lifelong love story, Doris and Edward remind us what travel is really about - the people we share it with, and the joy of beginning the next journey together.

Welcome back, Doris and Edward. We’ve missed you 💞
