We have launched a range of private testing options for passengers at Heathrow to keep you flying safely. Testing requirements vary depending on the country you are travelling to and from, which is why independent test providers at the airport are offering a variety of tests which can be used by both arriving and departing passengers.
Please note that these tests need to be pre-booked and fees apply.
Find out more below about travel testing requirements and the types of tests available for purchase at Heathrow below.
Some countries require passengers to show proof of a negative, COVID-19 test within certain timeframes of departure. At Heathrow, independent test providers are able to offer the most commonly mandated tests by other countries - LAMP, Rapid Antigen using Lateral Flow Devices, and PCR.
The types of test and timing required to take the test before departure vary by country which is why we recommend passengers check the Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office website for the latest travel information. Please ensure that you carefully confirm the type of test, certification, and timeframe for completion required before booking a test.
Please ensure sufficient time to receive your results to complete your flight check-in.
*COVID-19 testing services at Heathrow Airport are provided by third party test providers. Heathrow Airport Limited assumes no responsibility for such testing services. Should you opt to purchase a COVID-19 test from one of these providers, their terms and conditions will apply. By clicking on the link, you will be leaving the Heathrow website.
Passengers arriving from a country not on the UK Travel Corridors List can shorten their mandatory 10-day quarantine period by completing a negative COVID-19 test from Day 5 onwards. Please check government website for full guidance.
We recommend booking your test before you travel, as you will need to opt into the Test to Release scheme and enter your test booking details in the Passenger Locator Form, which must be completed on arrival to the UK. If you decide to take part in the Test to Release scheme once you have arrived in England, you will need to update your Passenger Locator Form.

Depending on the type of test required by your destination you may need to book a test in the days before you travel to allow enough time for the results to be processed. Our independent test providers at the airport offer PCR, LAMP and Lateral flow antigen testing for purchase, however, you may wish to consider another private provider off airport.
If a LAMP or Rapid antigen test is required depending on local requirements of your country of travel, you may be able to complete this at Heathrow on the day that you fly if there is availability. We strongly recommend booking the test in advance.

Please note that the UK Government requires passengers to purchase tests from private providers and NHS tests are not available for travel purposes.
Passengers should check carefully what timeframes they are required to get a test within to meet local government requirements depending on their destination.
For those departing passengers, please check the Foreign Commonwealth Office website for information on the requirements at your destination. Please ensure when booking your test that you allow enough time for the results to be returned before you travel.
