Icelandair began life in 1938 as Flugfélag Akureyrar. Its single aircraft flew from northern Iceland. In 1940 the airline moved to Reykjavik. From its geographical base in the mid-Atlantic, Icelandair connects northern Europe and North America.
This airline is not currently a member of the main airline alliances. It may operate some routes under codeshare agreements (where partner airlines sell seats on the same aircraft, each using its own flight number). Your airline can advise whether this applies to any part of your journey.
