Airspace closures in the Middle East

Due to the ongoing situation in the Middle East and resulting airspace closures in the region, a small number of flights at Heathrow have been cancelled or delayed.

Passengers are advised to check with their airlines for the latest information on their flight.

This privacy notice tells you what to expect when Heathrow Airport Ltd (Heathrow) collects personal information about you when you use the Heathrow Community Relations forums. Heathrow is committed to protecting your personal information when you use Heathrow services.

Whenever you provide such information, we are legally obliged to use your information in line with all applicable laws concerning the protection of personal data, including the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

 

 

When you use the Heathrow Community Relations services we may collect the following information about you:

  • First and last name
  • Address and postcode
  • Email address
  • Mobile number
  • Specific details about your enquiry, this may include any personal data or special category you choose to share with us
  • A call recording of our conversations if you use the engagement line.

If your contact is to register your interest in Heathrow’s future property compensation schemes and Home Relocation Support Service. The above details will be collected as well as the below to help deal with your application. 

  • Relationship with the property owner
  • Information relating to the composition of your household
  • Future communications and contact preferences
  • Future communications support requirements
  • Information you share about your personal circumstances

You may choose to include special category information about you or a member of your household (e.g. information in respect of additional support that might be needed in regard of access, illness or disability etc).

  • We will use your personal information for the purposes of looking into your enquiry and responding to you in respect of it. 
  • We will record calls for quality assurance and colleague training.
  • Should you contact us in relation to Heathrow’s  future property compensation schemes or Relocation Support Service we will use any information you provide to assess your suitability for these services

 

 

  • It is necessary for compliance with our legal obligations 
  • Where we have a legitimate interest to collect and store this data 
  • You have given consent for a specific usage of your data OR
  • Where we have a vital interest to process the data 
  • Where there is a contractual reason to collect this data

  • We will provide you with information about future property compensation schemes, deal with your requests and enquiries related to them and to advise you of upcoming news and information which may be relevant to you given your interest in the future property compensation schemes. Anonymised data may also inform the planning application impact assessments, e.g. to evidence appropriate engagement has been undertaken and to understand what additional types of support may be required. 

Your information will be handled and used by the following recipients in order to deal with your scheme application:

  • Heathrow colleagues 
  • Scheme contractors working on behalf of Heathrow 
  • Scheme managing agents working on behalf of Heathrow
  • Scheme service providers working on behalf of Heathrow

We will not transfer or disclose your personal information, other than: as identified in this Privacy Notice, to our trusted third party suppliers, to the police, tribunals, courts, regulators, or other authorities to assist them with their investigations or requests or for us to report security incidents or suspected or actual unlawful acts and/or as may be otherwise required by law. Your personal information is processed and stored wholly within the European Economic Area and the UK.

Your information will be retained for the purpose of dealing with your enquiry and kept afterwards for statistical purposes. All information relating to your enquiry will be deleted after a period of ten years. Your call recording will be deleted after a period of 6 months.

Your information will be retained in a secure environment with access controlled according to the ‘need to know principle’; access rights will be monitored regularly.

Under the provisions of the Data protection Act 2018, you have the following rights in respect of our use of your personal information:

  • Obtain a copy of the personal information we hold about you by making a subject access request
  • Ask us to correct any incorrect information we hold about you
  • Ask us to delete any of your personal information which we no longer have a legitimate reason for keeping
  • Restrict the processing of your information where this is justified
