CIRIAS (Critical Infrastructure Resilience Integrated Aviation System) – Hopes to discover how the next generation of autonomous drones could be used to support the aviation sector. The research will see whether systems could be developed that would allow drones to be used for long-range tasks, beyond the usual line of sight. This concept could help conduct inspections of runways, airfields, roofs and warehouses, reducing costs and cutting emissions by decreasing the number of vehicles used at the airport.
