Airspace closures in the Middle East

Due to the ongoing situation in the Middle East and resulting airspace closures in the region, a small number of flights at Heathrow have been cancelled or delayed.

Passengers are advised to check with their airlines for the latest information on their flight.

Airspace & Future Ops Consultation

Now closed

The Airspace and Future Operations Consultation ran from 8 January to 4 March 2019.

Local communities were consulted on changes to Heathrow’s airspace and future runway operations including:

  1. Airspace Change - for both expansion and our existing two runways

  2. Managing noise at an expanded Heathrow

  3. Respite through runway and airspace alternation

  4. Managing Heathrow's growth within environmental limits

  5. Directional preference

  6. Night flights - early morning arrivals

  7. Night flights - other night restrictions
