Heathrow is committed to engaging with its neighbours. We want to work collaboratively with local communities and other local stakeholders to build positive and meaningful relationships, in order to deliver positive outcomes for our neighbouring areas.
One of the ways we can do that is through our Community Forums. By listening and talking to local representatives, we can gain a better understanding of the things that are important to our local communities and what role Heathrow can play, to ensure Heathrow is both a great place to live and work.

The Council for the Independent Scrutiny of Heathrow Airport ensures the independent oversight of the way Heathrow engages with stakeholders.
Fully integrated with Heathrow’s wider community forum structure, CISHA provides a transparent mediation process for constructive and effective management with the airport as set out in Section 35 of the Civil Aviation Act.

The Local Community Forum facilitates a dialogue between the airport and its neighbouring communities. It keeps members informed on the airport’s current operations and future plans and provides a space for members to give feedback and work with Heathrow to deliver positive outcomes for Heathrow’s surrounding areas.
The forum’s objective is to help the airport operate sustainably while positively engaging with its residents, community groups, and industry stakeholders surrounding the airport. It aims to build relationships based on trust, credibility, and transparency, to ensure that Heathrow is the best neighbour it can be.
In 2023 and beyond, the forum aims to identify more opportunities to work with forum members on a variety of topics that matter most to surrounding communities and ensure a more collaborative agenda.
The Local Community Forum will also be looking to broaden the diversity of its membership to ensure that Heathrow is engaged with a variety of community stakeholders, that reflect a representative voice of all the local communities that live around the airport.

The Noise and Airspace Community Forum's aim is to engage with representatives of the local community around Heathrow and with the relevant aviation industry and government stakeholders to identify their issues and concerns related to noise, airspace, and runway operations at Heathrow.

The Heathrow Air Quality Working Group is made up of representatives from councils, agencies, and organisations located in Heathrow’s neighbouring communities. The objectives of the group are to facilitate positive dialogue, allow members to provide updates on local progress, facilitate participation in joint projects, and raise areas for concern.
