    Launch your career with Heathrow

This is your chance to build a career in an airport that matters to millions. Heathrow is a city within a city – interesting and ever changing. As critical national infrastructure, we keep the economy moving by helping to facilitate travel and trade.

Join us as one of our graduates at this crucial time of recovery and become part of a team that drives efficiency, innovation and growth.

    The scheme

We offer two options under this scheme to help align business need with individual ambition. Each offers the opportunity to rotate around the business whether you select the Quantity Surveying (QS) development programme or the Procurement and Supply Chain (PSC) development programme.

    1. PSC scheme: This scheme will set you up for success, through rotation within different teams in Procurement. You will develop your technical and practical capabilities, such as strategy writing, contract drafting and negotiation, supplier market engagement and tendering. During the programme, we will support you towards completing your Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) qualification, where you will seek to become a Member of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (MCIPS) within the programme.
    2. Quantity Surveying scheme: This pathway will open your eyes to the world of capital construction at Heathrow. Building your skills across pre contract cost planning, procurement, tendering, estimating, and post contract disciplines of commercial management & dispute resolution. Throughout the programme, we will support you towards completing your Assessment of Professional Competence with the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.

    Supporting you for success

Throughout the programme, you will enjoy the support of a senior sponsor from our leadership team. They will be there to help you build your networks, challenge your thinking and unlock opportunities. You will also meet regularly with a dedicated mentor who can answer any questions you may have about the organisation and help you find solutions to any challenges you may face. Plus, you will have a ‘buddy’ to show you the ropes until you find your feet.

    Your professional development

Whilst you are completing real work, with real responsibility, we will also support your studying to achieve a professional qualification as outlined above. We will provide you with the opportunity to choose which qualification you undertake based on your career aspirations and conversations with your line managers. We will support you with study leave and the funding you require to successfully complete your qualification.

    What we're looking for

We are looking for graduates with a real interest in developing a breadth of understanding in Procurement, who seek to become our leaders of the future. You will need to have an analytical mind with strong numerical ability to help you work through challenges within the role. It’s important for you to demonstrate a ‘can-do’ attitude, integrity and a real passion for living our Heathrow values.

We will give you the scope to build upon your excellent communication skills and show you how you can use these to effectively influence and negotiate through your career. We are seeking our future leaders in Procurement, so you need a flair for problem solving as well as demonstrating drive and ambition. For the Quantity Surveying Scheme, a degree in Quantity Surveying and Commercial Management is favoured.
