At Heathrow we’re changing people’s lives for the better. By 2030 we will provide 10,000 apprenticeships and new careers for up to 40,000 people.
Due to the unforeseen circumstances that the UK is facing with the Covid-19 virus, it is with regret and great sadness we have decided that the Heathrow Apprenticeships and Careers Show due to take place on 31 March and 1 April 2020 has been postponed.
We have been actively monitoring and following advice about the Coronavirus (COVID-19) over the past weeks. Yesterday the Prime Minister announced updated advice and recommended measures to deal with the outbreak. This advice and likelihood of future measures being taken by Government coupled with the unique nature of Heathrow Apprenticeships and Careers Show as an indoor, hands-on interactive event for thousands of young people means that we feel as an organisation this is the most appropriate and safest decision to take at this time. We wanted to announce this decision as soon as we could to give as much notice as possible.
At Heathrow the health, well-being and safety of our visitors, exhibitors and supporting partners is paramount and therefore we cannot take the risks associated with going ahead with the event. We know that cancellation of the event will be disappointing for the schools, families, young people and job seekers who had booked to attend as well as the exhibitors. Heathrow remains committed to supporting its local communities and we will be announcing a new date for the show in due course.
To ensure sustainable, long-term employment for Heathrow’s current and future workforce we have launched a new Apprenticeships and Careers Show.
This event will give visitors the chance to explore future skills, get work ready and apply for live vacancies and apprenticeships. This is not your average careers fair. You can get interactive and experience a whole range of careers, helping you to visualise the skills employers are looking for.
