Piccadilly line closure: 16-18 October

Due to planned engineering works, there will be no Piccadilly line London Underground service to or from Heathrow on Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 October.

There will also be no Night Tube service on Friday 16 October.

A normal service is expected on Monday 19 October.

Heathrow Express, Elizabeth line, replacement buses and local bus services will run as normal on these days.

Please plan your journey before travelling to Heathrow and allow extra time where necessary, as these services will be busier than usual.

Cargo Tunnel

Closure update

Cargo Tunnel closure

The Cargo Tunnel is being refurbished and the Project is expected to be completed in 2026. To facilitate some of the more complex refurbishment activities, including the commissioning of ventilation systems, there is a requirement for the tunnel to be fully closed.

Closure details:

From 22:00 (local time) on Friday 17 October to 05:00 (local time) on Monday 24 November 2025 (inclusive)

During these times, the Cargo Tunnel will be fully closed 24/7, with no access for the airside community. All airport companies must ensure their colleagues are regularly updated and familiarised on the diversionary routes and procedures outlined in Operational Advice Notice (OAN 435).
