Heathrow Express and Elizabeth line suspended - August 14th

Heathrow Express is operating a reduced service and TfL Elizabeth line is currently suspended due to a power issue affecting the rail network between Paddington and Maidenhead.

London Underground services are operating as normal, and a replacement bus service is running between Terminal 4 and Terminals 2&3. Passengers travelling between Terminal 2, 3 and 5 can continue to use the Piccadilly line, which is operating as usual.

Cargo Tunnel closure

The Cargo Tunnel is being refurbished and the Project is expected to be completed in 2026. To facilitate some of the more complex refurbishment activities, including the commissioning of ventilation systems, there is a requirement for the tunnel to be fully closed.

Closure details:

From 22:00 (local time) on Friday 17 October to 05:00 (local time) on Monday 24 November 2025 (inclusive)

During these times, the Cargo Tunnel will be fully closed 24/7, with no access for the airside community. All airport companies must ensure their colleagues are regularly updated and familiarised on the diversionary routes and procedures outlined in Operational Advice Notice (OAN 435).
