We’d like to introduce you to some of our graduates, as they share their stories from their time on Heathrow's graduate programmes.
I studied Aviation Management at Coventry University and joined Heathrow in September 2025 on the Rotational Graduate Leadership Development Programme. Since then, I've had the opportunity to work across a variety of teams, contributing to projects that enhance our flight connections product across the airport, as well as initiatives that help shape our wider customer experience strategy. This has included everything from colleague engagement campaigns to defining the standards that underpin great passenger experiences.
What I enjoy most about working at Heathrow is the variety. Every day brings new challenges, different perspectives and opportunities to learn from colleagues across the business. Being part of such a dynamic environment has helped me develop both professionally and personally, while contributing to projects that make a real difference for passengers and colleagues alike.
I studied BEng Civil Engineering at Anglia Ruskin University and joined Heathrow in September 2025 on the Engineering Graduate Leadership Development Programme. Since then, I've gained experience across different areas of the business, starting with a placement in Civils Delivery and now working within Technical Services.
Throughout the programme, I've had the opportunity to contribute to a wide range of projects, from developing assurance cases for innovative materials that help extend the life of our assets, to reviewing engineering standards and supporting asset management activities focused on safety, compliance and performance. These experiences have given me a real insight into the scale and complexity of Heathrow's infrastructure and the important role engineering plays in keeping the airport running safely and efficiently.
What I've enjoyed most is the opportunity to learn from experts across the business and build connections with colleagues from a variety of teams. The programme has encouraged me to challenge myself, broaden my technical and leadership skills, and take on meaningful work from day one. The support and mentorship I've received have helped me grow in confidence, accelerate my development and make a real impact while building my career at Heathrow
I studied Business Management with a focus on Commercial Aviation at the University of Liverpool, graduating in July 2025. During my studies, I completed a placement with Egis at Farnborough Airport, where I worked as an Aviation Consultant supporting projects ranging from noise management at Gatwick Airport to airspace modernisation initiatives in Ireland.
I joined Heathrow on the Rotational Graduate Leadership Development Programme, starting my first placement in Operational Resilience within Operational Delivery and Airline Co-ordination. During this time, I contributed to a range of projects, including the development of decision gym desktops and terminal action cards, and had the opportunity to lead a live resilience exercise, ‘In Train Sight’, in partnership with Heathrow's rail team.
I am currently completing my second placement in Customer Aviation within Airline Partnerships, where I work closely with airline partners and colleagues from across the business on partnership initiatives, stakeholder engagement, marketing activity and communications. This experience has given me valuable insight into how strong relationships and collaboration help deliver great outcomes for our customers and airline partners.
What I've enjoyed most about the graduate programme is the opportunity to experience Heathrow from both an operational and commercial perspective. Working across different teams has helped me understand how a world-leading airport brings together a wide range of expertise to keep people, businesses and countries connected. The variety of experiences, combined with the support of colleagues across the business, has enabled me to build my aviation knowledge, develop new skills and grow in confidence. I'm excited to continue my journey with Heathrow as I move into the Strategic Capacity team and take on new opportunities to learn, contribute and make an impact.
I studied International Business with Mandarin, including a professional placement year, at the University of Sussex and joined Heathrow in September 2025 on the Rotational Graduate Leadership Development Programme.
Since joining, I've had the opportunity to experience both operational and non-operational roles, leading and supporting projects focused on sustainability reporting and improving our operational response to incidents. I'm now preparing for my final rotation, where I'll be exploring how customers and colleagues travel to and from the airport, and identifying opportunities to make those journeys more sustainable.
What I've enjoyed most about the programme is the freedom to learn and explore different parts of the business. Heathrow is full of people who are passionate about what they do, and there's always an opportunity to deepen your understanding if you're curious and willing to ask questions. The variety of experiences, combined with the support from colleagues across the airport, has helped me build confidence, broaden my perspective and develop skills that will support my future career.
I studied International Business at the University of Leeds and joined Heathrow’s Rotational Graduate Leadership Development Programme in September 2023. Since then, I’ve had the opportunity to work across Airport Journeys, Customer Strategy and Commercial Aviation, giving me a unique perspective on how different parts of the business come together to deliver for our passengers, colleagues and airline partners.
During the programme, I’ve contributed to a range of projects with a visible impact across Heathrow. From leading the Heathrow Helper uniform refresh and supporting the transition to our new purple uniforms, to helping relaunch our service strategy and embed it into our colleague recognition platform, I’ve seen first-hand how ideas can be turned into meaningful change. I’ve also explored best practices from leading airports around the world, sharing insights and recommendations across the business, and helped develop a business case to support Heathrow’s commercial aviation strategy.
What makes the programme so rewarding is the opportunity to experience Heathrow from different perspectives. Working across a variety of teams has given me exposure to senior leaders, complex challenges and high-impact projects from day one. It’s helped me build a broad understanding of the airport and how it operates as one connected business. I now bring that experience to the People Transformation team, where I’m helping to introduce new technologies that enhance the colleague experience and support the future of Heathrow.
For anyone considering the programme, it’s a fantastic opportunity to learn quickly, make a real contribution and build a network across one of the world’s most dynamic and complex organisations.
