E-GAP is the first mobile Electric Vehicle (EV) fast charging solution that delivers your charge on-demand directly to your EV. E-GAP is committed to helping individuals, businesses, and cities contribute to a future where every day transport is emission-free, supporting Heathrow’s Net Zero Carbon commitments.

E-GAP is available 7 days a week, between 08:00 and 18:00 (Excluding UK Bank Holidays). 

How does EV charging work?

  • Download the app
    Download the app

    To get started, download the E-GAP app, available for free from the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.

  • Sign up to E-GAP
    Sign up to E-GAP

    Once you have registered and added your EV’s details, add the Affiliate code for your car park, in the Codes area of the app.

  • Request a charge
    Request a charge

    Once you have parked in an eligible car park, add your vehicle's location, select payment method and the recharge service required.

  • Charging your vehicle

    E-GAP will contact you with confirmation within 90 minutes, and you can track the progress of your charge via the App.

  • Payment
    Payment

    Submit your payment details in ‘Account – Wallet’ on the App before you make your first booking; you will only be charged via the App once your recharge has ended.

  • Charging port access

    Please note, this service is only available if you can remotely open and close your EV's charging port, or if you are nearby to open it at the start and close it at the end of the recharge.

How much does EV charging cost?

When booking E-GAP, you can choose from two packages:

  • 20kWh of energy or 45 minutes of continuous charging according to your EV charging specs (whichever is reached first) for £22.00 incl VAT

  • 30kWh of energy or 60 minutes of continuous charging according to your EV charging specs (whichever is reached first) for £31.00 incl VAT

Electric vehicles are all different in terms of speed of charging and capacity of energy they can receive, depending on the model. E-GAP provides a service that is based on the maximum energy delivered or energy delivered in a specific amount of time. Your charge will end once the selected energy or time allowance is reached, whichever comes first.

What is the electric vehicle charging power?

This depends on the characteristics of your EV. E-GAP’s maximum charging power is up to 90kW in DC and 22 kW in AC.

Frequently asked questions

The E-GAP mobile EV recharge service is available 7 days a week, between 08:00 and 18:00 (Excluding UK Bank Holidays). 

If you can't find your vehicle’s make and model in the drop down list, please select ‘other’ in make and ‘non-listed model’ in the model section. If you continue to encounter issues, please contact Customer Service, and they will assist you.

This will depend on the Operator’s availability. You will be contacted via SMS with service timing details and booking confirmation within 90 minutes of receiving your request.

E-GAP’s Heathrow Trial is exclusively for fully electric vehicles.

Customer Services will first try to call you up to 3 times, after which they will send you an SMS asking you to remotely open the flap.

It is highly recommended that you remain reachable, preferably by phone, or SMS, throughout the recharging process in case E-GAP’s operator or Customer Service team needs to reach out to you.

The affiliate code for Business, Long Stay and POD parking customers is LR1PA1.

For Meet and Greet and Valet Parking users, the affiliate code is LR2PB2.

It is highly recommended that you remain reachable, preferably by email or SMS, throughout the booking process in case E-GAP’s operator or Customer Service team needs to reach out to you.

If the time slot provided doesn’t work for you, you can access the App to cancel the request or contact Customer Services to reschedule.

You can cancel it without a penalty up to the moment when status of the order changes to “On the way”. If, for some reason, you need to cancel the order after this stage, please get in touch with the Customer Service team by phone on (0)20 8135 8459 or SMS on 07520 690 808 for further assistance.
