How to do business with us
Our dedicated procurement teams use their expert knowledge of the market to identify the best suppliers from which to purchase goods and services, then manage the tendering and negotiation process to appoint and manage those suppliers. Airport Ltd is no longer bound by OJEU and now uses an eSourcing tool for tendering. You can view the published Procurement pipeline for details of contracts, their category and renewal dates which we hope will be of assistance to you. It is not the full procurement pipeline, as this continues to be developed, so to ensure that your company is notified of all relevant tender opportunities, please register your company details on the Heathrow eSourcing portal.
At Heathrow we are looking to expand our airport and are currently awaiting a response from the Government following the recommendation made by the Davies Commission.
So that we are able to make an immediate start on this exciting programme of work, we have recently issued an Expression of Interest (EOI) to suppliers who we feel would be suitable to work with us, in partnership, as part of our Programme Client Team. These Programme Client Partners (PCP) will augment and integrate with the Heathrow Team to lead the expansion programme.
We are currently evaluating and short listing these submissions and will be looking to tender these lots during November / December 2015 amongst the shortlisted suppliers.
There will be plenty of future opportunities for suppliers to work with us on Design and Delivery packages on the Expansion Programme and for those suppliers wishing to do so we encourage you to register an interest on our eSourcing portal.
What we look for in a supplier
Naturally our tendering processes and award criteria will be different depending on the type of goods and/or services being procured. However, we will typically award on the basis of most economically advantageous tender with competition being our primary vehicle to demonstrate the delivery of value. Areas that may be looked at when assessing suppliers include:
- Safety record
- Integrity - ethics and sustainability
- Value for money
- Quality of product and/or service
- Standard of performance and technical capability
- Delivery performance
- Reliability - get things right and deliver against commitments
- Risk management capability
- Ability to support attainment of short term goals as well as long term objectives
- Innovation that delivers benefits
