Terminal Drop-Off Charge

From 1 November 2021, a £5 charge will apply for vehicles dropping off passengers at the designated drop-off zones, located directly outside the terminals. Discounts and exemptions will apply. Free drop-off will be available at the Long Stay car parks.

Changes to entering the UK using EU ID cards

From 1 October 2021, most EU, EEA and Swiss nationals will need to use a valid passport to travel to the UK. ID cards will no longer be accepted as a valid travel document to enter the UK, though some exemptions will apply.

  • New Chitose Airport Guide

    Full Name: New Chitose Airport
    Location: The airport is situated three miles (5km) southeast of Chitose, and serves the Sapporo metropolitan area.
    Time: GMT +9
    Transfer to the City:

    Transport to Sapporo and other nearby towns and cities is available via rail (the JR Line from the New Chitose Airport Station) and bus. The JR New Chitose Airport Station is on the first basement floor at the domestic terminal building, while bus stops are on the first floor at both the domestic and international terminals.

    Car rental:

    A number of car rental companies are represented at the airport. As the area directly in front of the airport building is a no-parking zone, rental cars cannot be picked up or dropped off in this zone. Car rental companies also offer shuttle services to their respective offices in Chitose.

    Facilities:

    Airport facilities include a selection of restaurants and snack bars, a variety of shops, a movie theatre, information kiosks, lounges, currency exchange and banking facilities, ATMs, art exhibitions, a post office, baby changing rooms, and a clinic.

    Parking:

    Parking for more than 3,900 cars is available at the airport.
