Road congestion around Heathrow: 4 October

The road tunnel leading to Terminals 2 and 3 is partly closed while safety checks are carried out. The outbound tunnel is closed but the inbound tunnel is open for contraflow movement. There is currently traffic congestion across the Heathrow road network so please avoid travelling by road, and instead use the rail network. Passengers can also use the free rail transfer service from Terminals 4 and 5 to get to Terminals 2 and 3.

  • Heathrow Midnight Marathon 2022 Terms and Conditions

    1. DEFINITIONS

    “Agreement" - means the agreement between you and Heathrow comprised of these terms and conditions and the Privacy Notice;

    “Data Protection Legislation” – means (i) any law, statute, declaration, decree, directive, legislative enactment, order, ordinance, regulation, rule or other binding restriction (as amended, consolidated or re-enacted from time to time) which relates to the protection of individuals with regards to the Processing of personal data to which a Party is subject, including the Data Protection Act 2018 and the UK GDPR, as well as the Privacy and Electronic Communications (EC Directive) Regulations 2003; and (ii) any code of practice or guidance published by the Information Commissioner’s Office from time to time;

    "Entry Fee" - means the fee payable by you to Heathrow Community Trust in consideration of your participation in the Event via the Eventbrite Event website;
    "Event" – means the Heathrow Midnight Marathon 2022 organised by Heathrow;
    “Eventbrite” - Eventbrite, Inc. is a Delaware corporation with its principal place of business at 155 5th Street, Floor 7, San Francisco, CA 94103, Reg. No. 4742147;
    "Event Date" - ccommencing on 1st October 2022 at 2200 hours until 2nd October 2022 at 0300 hours;
    "Heathrow", "we", "us", "our" - means Heathrow Airport Ltd (registered number 01991017) whose registered office is at The Compass Centre, Nelson Road, Hounslow, Middlesex TW6 2GW;
    “Midnight Marathon” – means the night-time running competition organised by Heathrow on a Heathrow runway with the purpose of raising money for charity;.
    “Personal Data” – shall have the meaning given to it under the UK GDPR;
    “Privacy Notice” – means the Heathrow Midnight Marathon 2022 privacy notice;.
    “Processing” - has the meaning ascribed in the UK GDPR, and “Processed” and “Process” shall be construed accordingly; and
    “UK GDPR” - Means the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679 as it forms part of the law of England and Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland by virtue of section 3 of the European Union (Withdrawal) Act 2018.

    2. ENTRY

    2.1. By submitting your application on the Eventbrite Event webpage you are agreeing to enter into the Event and also agree to abide by these terms and conditions, any instructions, rules and regulations that apply to the Event and instructions, including but not limited to, those displayed at the Event or given to you by the organisers and officials of the Event.
    2.2. The use of your data and images are as detailed in the Privacy Notice.
    2.3. We reserve the right to refuse entry to the Event or to ask you to cease participation at the Event if:-
    2.3.1. you fail to follow instructions for the Event given by Heathrow or Event officials;
    2.3.2. you attempt to participate in the Event in a manner that we, acting reasonably, believe:-
    2.3.2.1. may cause injury to you or another participant;
    2.3.2.2. is likely to cause offence; or
    2.3.2.3. otherwise causes a risk or potential risk to health and safety of other participants or yourself including any failure, in whole or in part, to comply with the restrictions in condition 3;
    2.3.3. in our opinion, you are unfit to participate in the Event due to:-
    2.3.3.1. the consumption or use of alcohol or drugs;
    2.3.3.2. an injury or illness; or
    2.3.4. you fail to arrive at the start location of the Event at the specified start time.
    2.4. if, in accordance with condition 3.1, if you are refused entry to the Event or we ask you to cease participation in the Event, you must remove your runner's electronic chip and return this to an Event official.
    2.5 . You will be banned from all future events organised by Heathrow if you have falsified information on the entry form.

    3. EVENT SAFETY

    3.1. At all times during the Event you must adhere to all instructions given by Heathrow, its staff or any other Event organisers or staff.
    3.2. Participation in the Event is personal to you; you are strictly prohibited from swapping, selling or transferring or offering to sell, swap or transfer your place in the Event. Any breach of this condition shall render the entry void. If you are found to be in breach of this condition we reserve the right to exclude you from participation in future events organised by Heathrow.
    3.3. You are not permitted to use or bring the following items in the Event:-
    3.3.1. any artificial aid, unless medically required;
    3.3.2. any pets or animals;
    3.3.3. any other item that Heathrow, in its absolute discretion, constitutes Foreign Object Debris (FOD) and could potentially inhibit the flow or safety of other participants or which we, in our reasonable opinion, deem may cause danger or risk of danger to you, other participants, aircraft or the airfield.
    3.4. You accept that you participate in the Event at your own risk.
    3.5. You warrant to us that you will be on the Event Date, sufficiently fit and healthy to participate in the Event unaided and in accordance with the Agreement. If you are in any doubt concerning your fitness to participate, we recommend that you seek medical advice.

    4. CANCELLATION BY YOU

    4.1. You are permitted to withdraw from the Event for any reason by emailing marathon@heathrow.com, however, the Entry Fee goes to charity and is non-refundable if you withdraw your entry at any time.

    5. CANCELLATION BY US

    5.1. We may cancel the Event if circumstances beyond our reasonable control arise, including, without limitation, acts of God, pandemic, war, civil or political unrest, terrorism or inclement weather conditions.
    5.2. In such circumstances we will, if practicable, provide written notice of cancellation to the email address we hold for you. In the event that written notice is not practicable due to the timescales involved, we will use reasonable endeavours to provide other suitable methods of notice including, mobile phone or text message.
    5.3. In the event of cancellation of the Event we will have no responsibility for any costs incurred by you as a result of cancellation including any travel or accommodation costs.

    6. DATA PROTECTION

    6.1. Please read the Privacy Notice annexed to these terms and conditions carefully to understand Heathrow’s practices regarding your Personal Data and how we will treat it. By selecting the opt-in box to agree to this Agreement and submitting your application for the Event, you are accepting and consenting to the practices described in the Privacy Notice.
    6.2. You agree that any audio, visual, or audio-visual recordings that you make of the Event or any part of it are for personal use only and cannot be used for any commercial purpose.
    6.3. You agree that the Personal Data relating to you can be stored, and used by us and our Event partners in connection with the organisation, staging and administration of the Event.
    6.4. You agree that the Personal Data relating to you may be anonymised and the anonymised data may be used by us and our Event partners in connection with the compilation of statistical information.
    6.5. You agree that your name, image and contact details can be used by us for the purposes of:-
    6.5.1. the promotion and marketing of the Event; and
    6.5.2. adding you to a mailing list to keep you informed about future Midnight Marathon events which we believe you might be interested in.;
    6.6. If you would not like us or our Event partners to use the Personal Data for the purposes set out under conditions 6.5.1 and 6.5.2, please e-mail us at privacy@heathrow.com. You may also indicate that you do not consent to the purposes under conditions 6.5.1 and 6.5.2 by leaving the relevant tick box blank on your application form.

    7. CHANGES TO THE EVENT

    7.1. We reserve the right to change the location of the Event, or make any other amendment to the Event that we deem necessary to stage the Event at any time before the Event. Any change to the Event will be communicated to you at the Event or sooner if reasonably practicable.

    8. USE OF IMAGE

    8.1. Photographs of the Event may be taken which may capture your participation in the Event. You agree to the publication of such photographs and their use by us and those authorised by us in any way which we may see fit now or in the future including but not limited to publications and publicity.
    8.2. Any audio, visual, or audio-visual recordings that you make of the Event or any part of it are for personal use only and cannot be used for any commercial purpose pursuant to the Heathrow Bylaws 2014.

    9. LIABILITY

    9.1. In no event shall we be liable to you whether for breach of contract, any tortious act or omission (unless caused solely by Heathrow’s negligence) or otherwise, under or in connection with the Agreement for any:
    9.1.1. loss or damage;
    9.1.2. loss of profit;
    9.1.3. loss of reputation;
    9.1.4. loss of business, revenue or goodwill;
    9.1.5. loss of anticipated savings;
    9.1.6. pledges made on your behalf or by you to charity; or
    9.1.7. consequential or indirect loss regardless of whether the loss or damage:(a) would arise in the ordinary course of events;(b) is reasonably foreseeable; or(c) is in the contemplation of the parties, or otherwise.
    9.1.8. Nothing in this Agreement shall affect our liability for death or personal injury, fraud, or any other liability to the extent it cannot be excluded or limited by law.

    10. GENERAL

    10.1. The Agreement shall be governed by English law, and the parties submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
    10.2. If any provision of the Agreement is invalid or unenforceable, in whole or in part, the validity of the remainder shall not be affected.
    10.3. The Agreement does not create, confer or purport to confer any benefit or right enforceable by any person not party to it.
