  • The following provides an update on the number of flight movements we expect to see at Heathrow during June and our plans to reopen Terminal 4.

    Flight movements

Last month we outlined how we expected between 1000-1250 flight movements a day during May. The lowest daily number of flights in the month was 1100 (7 May) and the highest was 1173 (27 May), well within our predicted range.

Our forecast for June is between 1090-1250 flight movements a day, with slightly higher numbers expected compared to May. A significant range is likely due to continued daily variation and the uncertainty of last minute cancellations, with a progressive increase in flight movements through the month as we move towards the summer holiday peak period.

    Terminal 4 reopening

On 14 June Terminal 4 will reopen to travellers for the first time in over 2 years as part of our long-standing plan to ramp up airport capacity ahead of the summer. The move will allow Terminal 4 airlines more check in space and stand capacity as well as access to their premium facilities, and will also free up space in Terminals 2, 3 and 5 ahead of the summer peak.
