Heathrow rail disruption: 1-9 October

Due to planned industrial action, public transport to and from Heathrow will be disrupted from 1 October - 9 October. Please plan your journey in advance and ensure you leave enough time to get to the airport as roads may be busier than normal.

  • The following provides an update on the number of flight movements we expect to see at Heathrow during February.

Last month we outlined how we expected between 560-900 flight movements a day during January, with larger numbers travelling post-Christmas before demand dropped off as the month progressed. The lowest daily number of flights in the month was 571 (26 January) and the highest was 883 (3 January), comfortably within our predicted range.

Our forecast range for February is much the same with between 570-960 flight movements a day. Early February is typically very quiet which is driving the lower end of the range. Later in the month flight numbers are expected to rise for half term, with current schedules indicating more activity than the Christmas period as Omicron cases continue to ease and restrictions are lifted. Flights during half term tend to be more concentrated around the weekend which is driving the upper end of the range.
