Face coverings are mandatory at the airport and we encourage everyone to wear one at all times, unless they’re exempt. Passengers can purchase face coverings at several retailers at the airport including Boots and WHSmith.

  • The following provides an update on the number of flight movements we expect to see at Heathrow during January.

Last month we outlined how we expected between 500-1070 flight movements a day during December, with a large range expected due to traditionally low flight numbers on Christmas Day and typical December growth potentially affected by the impact of the new Covid-19 Omicron variant and Government restrictions around the world. The lowest daily number of flights in the month was 470 (25 December) and the highest was 950 (19 December), slightly below our predicted range.

Our forecast for January is between 560-900 flight movements a day, with larger numbers travelling post-Christmas before demand drops off as the month progresses. Considerable daily variation is expected, with the highest numbers typically occurring at the weekends and the lowest occurring on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
