  • Senior Cargo Business Development Manager

A degree in geography can take you virtually anywhere, so it’s quite fitting that I work within a business that does just that for millions of passengers a year and many thousands of colleagues throughout their careers.

I joined Heathrow in 2011 on the graduate programme, initially working in the programme management office in our capital programmes team, before moving into operational readiness for the London 2012 Olympic & Paralympic Games, which remains one of the true highlights of my career to date!  As a Project Manager, I delivered refurbishment projects in our terminals before leading the main asset management business case, working closely with our Engineering team to replace and renew critical equipment across Heathrow, ensuring we provide a safe, sustainable and high-quality environment for our passengers and colleagues.

At Heathrow, opportunities to broaden your skillset are only limited by the scale of your ambition.  With a focus on the longer term, the Portfolio Manager role offered me an opportunity to develop our pipeline of future projects aligned to the airport’s priorities, whilst as Senior Strategic Planning Manager in our Expansion Programme, I led and planned our engagement strategy with senior stakeholders as we strived to sustainably connect all of the UK to global growth.

Most recently, I took up an exciting role as Senior Cargo Business Development Manager in our Commercial team, where I am privileged to be leading the airport’s commercial and strategic relationship with stakeholders across the airport cargo supply chain.

There’s just something about Heathrow – once you’ve got the bug, it’s impossible to shake and I’d recommend pursuing a career here to anyone!
