LHR 2030 is our activity-packed, week-long work experience programme where local students can see first-hand how we run a multi-award winning airport, help over 80 million people move through Heathrow each year and keep the UK economy growing.
Why 2030? By the end of the next decade, Heathrow plans to deliver 10,000 apprenticeships and has the potential to end local youth unemployment. We are looking to the future of the airport and the opportunities to build a long-lasting skills legacy for our local community and beyond.
During your week with us, we will give you the opportunity to take part in a wide range of activities that will help you gain an insight into how we operate one of the world’s busiest airports. You will be hosted by a specific department and you will have a live business challenge to work on, to gain a real understanding of how an area of the airport works.
Our work experience programme is open to students aged 16-18, attending a sixth-form school or college in:
Students in these areas will be able to apply through their sixth-form school or college, who will be contacted at set times throughout the year.
We are reviewing how we can support young people who live outside of these areas to gain access to opportunities and experiences of work at Heathrow. We will be publishing a plan on this website in 2020, please check back for updates.
