    Developing a roadmap on technology improvements including power generation, storage and propulsion. This will inform when the electric and hydrogen aircraft concepts could enter into service.

    Examining concept aircraft performance and operating constraints. Including noise, airspace considerations, ground operations and future infrastructure requirements such as re-fuelling requirements.

    4. Modelling the impact on travel

    Detailed airline behaviour and multimodal demand models to examine how the aircraft concepts and operating constraints will affect air trip characteristics and the travel alternatives.

    5. Passenger, community and market responses

    Research into passenger, community and airline user attitudes and expectations and what the operational constraints and commercial opportunities may mean for uptake.

    • Community perspectives, including noise

    • Operational requirements and innovation
    • Passenger and airline acceptability
