Technical assessment

Heathrow has today published independent CAA (Civil Aviation Authority) analysis on the number of people affected by aircraft noise with a third runway. Using the Mayor of London’s preferred 55 dB Lden measure for noise at least 199,550, and potentially as many as 325,950 will be taken out of Heathrow’s noise footprint, according to the CAA forecast. The full analysis is available below.

Discussion papers

As part of the process of examining the scale and timing of any requirement for additional capacity in the UK, the Airports Commission published a series of discussion papers on relevant aviation issues, such as passenger forecasting, noise and climate change. Heathrow submitted these responses.
