It's surprising where you can get to with Heathrow
Responsible Heathrow case study
It takes a lot of people to run the UK's busiest international airport - 76,500 to be exact!
With over 400 different companies operating at Heathrow there’s always a need for new people from retail assistants, bus drivers and caterers to construction and airline workers.
Employers’ biggest challenge is finding the right people with the right skills and attitude, which is why we created the Heathrow Academy.
The Heathrow Academy provides a unique service for those living close to the airport and seeking work. Support involves pre-employment training to develop interview and CV skills, an insight into what it's like to work at an airport, and an understanding of specific job requirements.
Heathrow Academy graduates boost their chances of securing interviews, and once in work, they receive help in gaining qualifications, along with on-going advice and guidance.
Since its launch in 2004, the Heathrow Academy has put over 5,000 people through our pre-employment training and placed 3,188 people into work with retailers, caterers, aviation, logistic and construction companies across the airport.
Heathrow is constantly changing. As it does, the Heathrow Academy will continue to support local residents to access and develop rewarding airport careers.
If you live in Ealing, Hounslow, Hillingdon, Slough or Spelthorne, the Heathrow Academy can help.
